-IV. REMAKING TAO TE CHING series During my early studies in the US, I realized my understanding of nature and our relation to it was different from that of my American classmates. I traced it back to ancient Chinese philosophies, the earliest writing I could find was Tao Te Ching. Although it was written 2500 years ago, its concepts of a non-human-centric approach to nature, and interconnectedness of all beings are very relevant to the problems we face today. I replaced each character of Tao Te Ching with seeds, suggesting that this long forgotten ancient wisdom, like seeds, can bring new possibilities of healing to our broken relationship with nature, and the broken relationships among ourselves.
